Handout Plan for Point Reflection (pdf-file)
Because the reflector looks at their behaviour from a distance and is presented with a new perspective, they reflect on their behaviour. They gain insight into their motives. In this way they can think of a new approach towards the situation they are in.
The contributor explains the situation, without being interrupted.
Participants ask clarification questions.
The facilitator listens and invites, without passing judgment on the reflector's words.
As facilitator you need to make the following preparations
Practise with Point Reflection.
Practise finding reflection points in various professional situations.
Choose a suitable moment in the programme.
Prepare the necessary teaching aids: flip chart, post-its, pens.
During the reflection session, as group leader, you
Provide examples of Point Reflection.
Make sure that the plan and the rules of play are followed.
Monitor the time.
If you make use of sub-groups you should also
Divide the group into sub-groups.
Walk round the groups and give further explanation where necessary.
