Spiral reflection is an in-depth reflection on a past action which will be carried out again in the future.
This tool was developed by Fred Korthagen.
The aim of Spiral reflection is to
Analyse one's own behaviour in relation to the surroundings.
To determine where change is desirable.
To suggest alternatives and to choose one of these, apply it and report back.
This reflection tool can be used in the following situations.
For individual guidance
The reflection session lasts 30 - 45 minutes.
In a group of 4 - 8 people
In which one person introduces a situation (reflector), the facilitator asks questions and notes down answers on a flip chart and the other participants think along.
The reflection session takes one to one and a half hours.
In a group of 8 to 20 people
After a group demonstration, the tool can also be carried out in groups of 3 people (reflector, facilitator, observer).
